A detailed subjective history will be taken to gather all necessary information needed to understand the nature of your primary complaint. A detailed biomechanical examination will then be performed. This will allow your posture, functional movements, range of motion, quality of movement, strength, neuromuscular control etc. to be assessed.

Treatment will be incorporated into the first session. Education on your condition, prognosis and how best to manage your condition will be provided to ensure you leave with a better understanding of your pain. Exercises that are in accordance with clinical guidelines and are appropriate given your injury and stage of healing will be prescribed.

At Joint Movement we want to equip our patients with the knowledge to manage their conditions and thus take additional steps to ensure all exercises are correctly demonstrate and performed by our patients. Instructions and/or video demonstrations are also emailed within 24 hours.

The course of your rehabilitation process will depend on various factors (ie. previous history, mechanism of injury, duration and severity of symptoms etc.). However, the initial assessment will allow us to gather essential information to individualize an effective treatment plan for you.

Joint Movement is unique as one-on-one sessions with the primary physiotherapist are provided from day one until discharge. This allows us to optimize your recovery process and ensure we deliver client-centre care.

Our primary focus is to utilize our expertise, combine all our skills and collectively help you reach your goals.

Joint Movement services are covered by all major insurance providers. We can provide official invoices and receipts for all physiotherapy sessions.

To ease the process for our clients we offer Direct Billing! We will happily submit your claims for you, please bring your insurance information to your first appointment, we will take care of the rest!

Please complete the intake forms prior to your first appointment. These can be completed online. If you would like to complete them at the clinic, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely such as tights and a t-shirt/tank top. If it is a lower extremity injury, please bring a pair of shorts.

Yes, acupuncture is included in your physiotherapy session. There is no additional cost associated with acupuncture.

A referral from a family physician is not needed. However, certain insurance plans require a physiotherapy prescription to accept your claim. We would recommend doing a quick check prior to attending your initial assessment to ensure a smooth transaction. With your consent and upon your request we can send a report after your assessment to your family physician including a detailed treatment plan.

Unfortunately, at this time we are NOT seeing patients involved in WSIB claims.

Joint Movement accepts patients involved in an MVA. Please ensure to bring the following information on your first visit. Policy number, claim number, name of insurance company, name of adjuster.
